Very Rightly has it been said that one does not walk by sight alone but by faith. And this so true. Have you witnessed such incidents in your life when just by evidence or facts or by mere qualitative analysis, things just don’t work? In the film ‘Man of Steel’ when Clark Kent was unable to decide whether he should reveal his identity as superman to the world or not, he went to a priest and the priest told him that sometimes the “Leap of Faith” is the first thing that we must do, and the trust part comes later. Christ has said the same things to us. Because in order to achieve and accomplish the unreal and extraordinary, we must cease to think and believe what is ordinary. Extraordinary things happen when extraordinary faith is put into practice. 

 

Bible verses on faith have helped me remind myself every time I try to put forward reality in the face of faith. And what is quite obvious is, I fail miserably! I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love. Ephesians 3:16-17

Read this part again, “Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith”. And yes, it is through faith, and by means of faith can Christ continue to stay in our hearts. Because all the time, the world will try to put its realistic foot ahead and we may think Christ is just an idea. But no! He is the Only Reality. Thus, we need to allow Christ to dwell in us, and this can only happen through faith.

Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. Mark 11:12

Some people call this the ” Law of Attraction”. But there is no law that comes from other places apart from God. That is when we should decide if our faith takes the driver’s seat or the back seat. Because the test of our faith produces perseverance and that is necessary.

What is this “all this” that is being spoken about over here? It is everything that belongs to the world: fame, money, luxury, ego, vices, pleasures, etc. Give us those and embrace righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance, and gentleness.

Along with strengthening our own faith, we must also accept those whose faith is weak or maybe weaker than ours. We are all children of the same father. Hence let us not distinguish and discriminate or judge somebody because their faith is weak. Rather, let’s accept one another.

Thus, faith is a beautiful gift that God has given us. There has been so many instances in my life when the world was completely against me, but I stood still and had faith in Jesus. He tells me to ‘Be Still’ and know that he is God and he is in control. Therefore even if the sky is falling down, my faith should never fall.
